Brian’s first foray into winemaking was almost 30 years ago in Germany. It was a blackberry wine, made with borrowed equipment, and the shop that loaned him the equipment ended up hiring him. That’s when Brian’s wine education truly began.
Several years, a continent, and another wine shop later, Brian opened his own store, Willow Point Wines U-Vin in Campbell River. For twenty-two more years Brian honed his skills, and passed on his knowledge to his customers, turning many into friends along the way.
In 2020, it was time for a fresh take on winemaking. Brian gave up his brick-and-mortar location and now brings the expertise to you with consultations and mobile fruit pressing. Now, you can do it all from home, and if you need supplies, Brian still has you covered with his online shop.
Willow Point Wines U-Vin has received more than thirty-two awards in the WineMaker Magazine International Amateur Winemakers Wine Competition.

We made our first batch of wine this past fall/winter 2011. We were very happy with the information and guidance that was provided to us. Our wine was wonderful and they provided suggestions on making our wine better and figuring out when or what we like through testing/drinking it every month and watching how it develops with age. The bottling process was rather slow for us, but being our first time they were patient with us and didn’t kick us out. Great wine place and recommended.
I was drawn to Brian’s lovely little wine crafting shop after enjoying a glass of sparkling pear wine that was made from my friend's pear harvest and vinted at Willow Point Wines U Vin. That was over 5 years ago and since then, with Brian’s assistance I have crafted several batches of marvelous grape, cranberry and mixed fruit wines and ciders.
I greatly enjoy my wine crafting time at Willow Point Wines U Vin and Brian’s experience and assistance always creates a tasty wine that I am happy to share with family and friends.

I have been having wine made by Willow Point Wines since shortly after arriving in Campbell River 12 years ago. I started utilizing Brian’s services after grilling him for reasons why I should be making wine at his shop rather than at other uvins in the city . Needless to say he satisfied my questions and I have dealt with him consistently ever since, making both Kits and Fruit wines. In that time there was only 1 failure of a kit and Brian would not let it leave his shop but insisted on replacing it.
To say I have been completely satisfied with Willow Point Wines is an understatement.
Brian has been helping us create wine from our own blueberries since our first harvest in 2013. We are happy to have Willow Point Wines U-Vin and Brian’s experience available to us locally. The premises are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Brian is an attentive vintner, giving each client as much of his attention as possible. This little shop can get very busy though, so we have found it’s a good idea to allow some extra time for our wine making appointments. Brian likes to share his ideas and stories, but we especially value his knowledge and opinions. Ultimately though, he leaves the final decisions to us which is as it should be.
We are still pretty new to this, but with the assistance of Willow Point Wines U-Vin, we have made consistently lovely wine that we are quite proud to call our own.
My now-wife and I recently worked with Brian to create a sparkling wine for our wedding in July 2018. We wanted something special that we could celebrate with, but that would also be enjoyed by everyone. We had a toast immediately following the ceremony and handed out a glass to all our guests and our sparkling was a huge hit! We did a semi-sweet sparkling Riesling, and it was perfect. A double batch was more than enough for our 200+ guests, and the leftover bottles made great gifts for family who helped with the wedding. We saved a bottle for ourselves and can’t wait to pop it for our anniversary! We highly recommend Willow Point Wines for a great product, and very helpful service!
